Individual (or Single-User) Digital Licences for High-Demand Programs

An Individual Digital Licence provides one teacher with access to a range of PLD’s high-demand evidence-based programs. Single-user licences are available for the same programs, downloads, and updates, accessible under a whole-school licence but are allocated to a single user only. This option is well-suited to teachers implementing PLD in their own classrooms, tutors or specialists delivering targeted intervention, and educators who require independent access for planning and preparation. An Individual Digital Licence offers a flexible alternative when a whole-school licence is not required, and is issued on an annual basis.

The Benefits of an Individual Licence

An Individual Digital Licence offers cost-effective access to PLD’s high-demand resources through a personal online account. Users gain instant access to the latest versions of each program, with automatic updates included. Unlike hard copy resources, there is no risk of loss or damage, and the licence permits viewing and printing for classroom use.

Licence Conditions

  • Individual Digital Licences are assigned to a single user and cannot be shared or transferred.
  • Sharing login details breaches copyright and PLD’s terms of use.
  • In job-share arrangements, each educator requires their own licence.
  • For multiple users or team access, a Whole School Licence is recommended.
Popular Individual Digital Licences

The most widely used Individual Digital Licences are those that align directly with PLD’s Teaching Sequence Manuals, providing ready-to-use tasks for phonics, spelling, and high-frequency word practice as part of PLD’s SSP Daily Review. Additional programs target oral language and comprehension, strengthening the foundations that underpin successful literacy instruction.

Individual Digital Licence Copyright & Terms of Use

An Individual Licence is for one person only. To respect copyright, it’s important to follow the usage guidelines provided. These outline what you can and can’t do with the resources, helping ensure PLD materials are used fairly and appropriately in classrooms.

How Individual Licence Resources CAN be Used

Under the Statutory Education Licence, the Authorised User is permitted to:

  • Access and read the resource content.
  • Display the resource on an Interactive Whiteboard, projector, or smart TV.
  • Print up to 10% of the Individual Licence resource per calendar year.
  • Copy and share text and images (e.g. word lists or dictation passages) for use in a lesson plan or presentation, provided that:
    • It is solely for educational purposes.
    • The Authorised Purchaser is covered by a ‘remuneration notice’ (a legal framework allowing educational institutions to copy and communicate copyrighted material for educational purposes).
    • The content is not shared with anyone outside the Authorised User’s classroom.

How Individual Licence Resources CAN NOT be Used

Under the Statutory Education Licence, the Authorised User is NOT permitted to:

  • Alter, adapt, or create derivative works from the resource, beyond the specific permissions granted for copying and sharing text/images.
  • Duplicate, download or otherwise replicate the Individual Licence resource, including copying or printing more than 10% of the Individual Licence resource per calendar year.
  • Incorporate any of PLD’s intellectual property into another resource (e.g. teacher-created student workbooks) without written approval from PLD.
  • Save a copy of more than 10% of the Individual Licence resource’s content, or any derivative work exceeding 10% of the original content, to a shared drive, intranet, portal, or other networked site.
  • Share the Individual Licence resource with or provide access to anyone else.
  • Incorporate PLD resources, such as (but not limited to) phonic flashcards, word lists, or dictation passages, into digital presentations (e.g. PowerPoint, Slides) which are then saved on a school network or shared drive, where colleagues can access and use across classrooms.
