Set 11 contains 10 chapter books, each structured into manageable chapters. With roughly 600–800 words per chapter, they provide an ideal daily 10–20 minute reading block designed to sustain a full week of reading practise.

Each book introduces specific new phonic concepts and carefully selected high-frequency words, giving students plenty of opportunity to practise new concepts while simultaneously consolidating previously learned concepts to prevent knowledge gaps.

  • Before-Reading Practise: Every chapter opens with a dedicated warm-up section covering the target phonic concepts and providing opportunity to practise tricky and high-frequency words before starting to read. 
  • Rich Oral Language: Every chapter finishes by introducing new vocabulary, before providing literal and inferential discussion questions from that chapter to strengthen comprehension, and facilitate oral language building. 
  • Extended Learning: Each book concludes with further activities designed to reinforce the specific phonics focus of the text.
