Frequently Asked Questions
How do we book a package?

Complete the booking form and a PLD team member will contact you within 2 business days.

Do packages roll over if not used?

No. All inclusions must be used within a single school year and cannot be transferred to the following school year.

How does this support differ from onsite PLD training?

On-site training provides a one-off professional learning event. The booking form for onset bookings is here. Packages offer ongoing coaching, accountability and implementation support – which research shows is essential for improving classroom practice.

Do we need to prepare anything beforehand?

PLD provides a clear checklist outlining all required preparation, for example, screening data, schedules, leadership briefing, room access, etc. [email protected] will be in contact to assist with your preparation.

Do teachers need to complete the online course before the coaching session?

Ideally, yes. Coaching is most effective when teachers have completed their online course. If not completed, the coaching sessions cannot be scheduled, as they are a mandatory prerequisite.

What if our staff are at different levels of experience with PLD?

This is very common. Coaching and training can be differentiated to support both beginners and experienced PLD teachers within the same year group. The group coaching sessions will accommodate this difference.

Can new staff join partway through the year?

Yes. New staff can be added and supported, but additional training or coaching may be recommended depending on the timing and the package selected.

Does PLD provide resources during the support?

PLD will recommend the specific resources your school needs, based on the audit and coaching. The provision of programs is not included in the cost of the packages.

What if we miss a coaching session?

Sessions can usually be rescheduled within the same school year, subject to availability. Missed sessions cannot be carried over into the following year. The packages have a specified number of sessions within a school year. If staff are not present on the day of the coaching, then those present can coach, or the school can schedule an additional coaching session, however, an additional fee will be charged.

Can packages be customised?

Yes. Some degree of flexibility within the allocated packages will be possible.
