Online Courses: Implementing PLD’s SSP Approach
Available on demand and starting from $49, these pre-recorded Online Courses provide a flexible, cost-effective way for teachers and education assistants to strengthen their understanding of PLD’s Structured Synthetic Phonics (SSP) evidence-based literacy instruction, all of which can be completed at your own pace and in your own time.
Online courses are available from the Early Years to Year 6, with additional short courses. If you are unsure which course best suits your needs, download the “How to Choose an Online Course” guide for support. After completing an online course, educators can also book a coaching session to assist with continued implementation.

Each online course outlines how to plan, teach, and monitor progress using assessment screens, tracking sheets, and incorporating oral language instruction alongside SSP, ensuring effective, consistent delivery at each year level.

Extend your professional learning with PLD’s range of targeted short online courses, designed to complement and deepen implementation of PLD’s SSP approach. These on-demand modules provide practical, research-based strategies and tools to enhance literacy outcomes across classrooms.
Complimentary Coaching To help you apply the content covered in the online courses, PLD offers complimentary 15–30 minute coaching sessions via phone, email, or Teams/Zoom. These sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions, clarify implementation steps, and receive practical guidance tailored to your context.
Further Coaching Sessions Beyond the complimentary consultation, schools can book additional fee-based sessions with one of PLD’s School Support Coordinators. These tailored coaching sessions address school-specific needs and may include guidance on implementing PLD programs, adapting routines to your context, analysing data, clarifying course content, or resolving challenges. Follow-up coaching provides practical, ongoing support to help schools implement PLD with confidence and fidelity.
