School-Based Professional Development
School-Based Professional Development supports all staff members to confidently implement PLD’s Structured Synthetic Phonics (SSP) evidence-based programs across all year levels. These tailored sessions provide a consistent message to the whole team, build shared understanding, and align with your school’s specific literacy goals and classroom needs. Schools can choose from a range of face-to face or online delivery options, including whole-staff workshops, coaching consults, and small-group or individual coaching.
To arrange your booking, complete the online form (the most time-efficient option) or download and return a paper-based version. General costs for each professional development option are also available to download here.

Book a free coaching session with one of PLD’s School Support Coordinators to receive tailored advice on maintaining and strengthening PLD’s Structured Synthetic Phonics (SSP) implementation in your school. These short, practical sessions support individual teachers and/or schools to refine practice, address challenges, and plan next steps in their literacy journey. Please note: Each school is eligible for one complimentary session per term.
If further support is needed beyond the complimentary consultation (typically longer than 45 minutes), schools can book an additional coaching session with one of PLD’s School Support Coordinators. PLD’s team consists of a range of literacy consultants, who are trained and have experience delivering school-based seminars and workshop coaching sessions. The forms above are mandatory in order to secure a booking, as they will provide the PLD bookings team (and the presenter) with the specifics on where the school is at and why the session has been scheduled.
The presenters can ‘launch’ PLD’s implementation in the school, by providing a broad school presentation (covering the junior primary to Year 6 in one day), but it is typically more time and cost-efficient if schools complete (at least 2 hours of the online courses prior to the school presentation). Presenters can then focus on school-specific coaching, once the classrooms in the booking school are aware of the basics of PLD’s implementation.
